As a compact assault rifle of the same class as Russian AKS-74U or German HK53 and G36C, SG-552 is similar to SIG-551 except that it has shorter handguard and barrel.

In the world of AEG, we have SG552 replicas primarily from TM. This title focuses on the TM implementation of SG552, although most concepts can be applied towards its siblings (such as the SG550/SG551) as well.

Unlike SG550/551, SG552 has no electric circuitry for the “burst mode” function. You only get semi auto or full auto.

The SG552 is a bit more complicated to disassemble when comparing to MP5, G36C and the like. Therefore, always keep the original manual handy. The small manual that comes with the box has a fly-out diagram which describes which parts go where.

The SG552 does not have a body flex problem (unless you disassemble the gun once a day causing excessive wear and tear). The 550/551 are way too long and heavy and are therefore a bit tough for the plastic body to stay intact. But the 552 is short and compact and is not showing any sign of body flexing under normal usage.
