If you find yourself confronted with a screw that is extremely difficult to unscrew, don’t use brute force (or you risk stripping the threads). Instead, give the screw a slight twist in the opposite direction and then loose it again. If this does not help, tap the screwdriver on the head with a small hammer (but don’t tap it too hard). If it still fails to make it, try to squirt the screw with penetrating oil or WD-40 and retry.

Stripping screws that go into places like the connection points between the mechbox and the pistol grip can be frustrating. If unfortunately you strip a screw, the easy way to remove it is to fill the stripped screw hole with J.B. Weld (which is a type of glue specially for use with metal parts), and then put your screwdriver into the old hole to create a new fitting. Give it 10 to15 minutes to set and dry completely, then unscrew it.
