It is recommended that you first insert the hopup rubber into the inner barrel, then you insert the barrel into the empty hopup chamber. Have it tightened via the plastic C clip. Finally, install the various hopup parts.
One easy way to improve air sealing and prevent air leakage at the hopup is to apply a thin layer of grease on the outside of the portion of the inner barrel that will be wrapped by the hopup rubber.
With the inner barrel firmly in place, you put in the hopup bucking. Then you install the adjustment arm and its spring.
